Where is My Email Going?

All user information is located on a central Data Warehouse server. This server holds your username, password and preferred email address. Blackboard reads the Data Warehouse data and will send email to the users "E-mail Delivery Address" address. If you do not use your Cal Poly Open Mail account (default account setting), the information bellow will help you to forwarded your email to your preferred email account (ex: jsmith@aol.com).

Instructors

There is a web tool that lets Cal Poly instructors update email addresses. Log-in to the My CalPoly Portal at http://my.calpoly.edu/ and use the Personal Information channel / tab. You'll find instructions for logging into the Portal on the Portal web page. Click on the Personal Info tab if you are a new user, or Subscribe (FAQ) to the Personal Information channel. Click on the Update button next to the E-mail Delivery Address to add your preferred email address. The email address that you add there will be used for delivery of all email sent to your Open Mail account (ex: username@calpoly.edu). Students
